Enable Chatbot

Overview

Enable and configure the DocsHound chatbot for your guides. Adding a chatbot lets users ask questions directly within your documentation.

Enable and Configure the Chatbot

To begin, open your guide and click Preview Guide in the top right corner.

In the Settings modal that opens, select the Chatbot tab. Here, you can enable the chatbot for your guide by switching on both Enable Chatbot and Display on Docs.

Next, configure the following chatbot settings:

  • Enter your support email address.

  • Upload a chatbot avatar image.

  • Enter the chatbot's name.

  • Specify the button label that users click to open the chatbot.

  • Compose the chatbot's first message (greeting).

  • Specify allowed domains for hosting the chatbot.

Click Save to save the chatbot settings.

Finalize and Publish

Navigate to the Theme tab and click Publish to publish your updated guide. This will complete the process to add a chatbot to your DocsHound guide.

Update Guides for Accurate Chatbot Responses

Keeping your user guide updated directly impacts the quality of the chatbot's answers. Make sure to update the guide regularly to provide users with the most accurate information.
