Overview

Discover how to enhance and tailor your images within the DocsHound editor, providing flexibility for your documentation needs.

Interact with Image Blocks

Drag and Drop Images

To add an image, simply drag and drop the image file into the editor.

Once the image is dropped, it will undergo a short loading period while metadata is generated.

Use Image Block Options

To access image block options, click on the image within the editor. This will highlight the image and bring up available options.

To edit the image further, open the image editor from the context menu and use tools such as Draw for annotations. Ensure to save changes by clicking the x button and confirming the save prompt.

Access Image Editor

  1. Click on the image block you want to edit.

  2. Look for the Three Dots icon to display more options.

  3. Click on the Three Dots to open the Context Menu.

  4. Select Edit Image from the Menu Items in the Context Menu.

  5. The image editor should now be open with available tools and options.

Apply Editing Tools

In the image editor, you will find various tools to modify your images. To start, locate the toolbar at the top of the editor. This contains buttons like Draw, Crop, Resize, and Annotate. Selecting any of these will activate the tool, allowing you to make the desired changes.

To draw on the image, click the Draw button. A set of options will appear, allowing you to choose the color and thickness of your lines. Click and drag your mouse across the image to draw. Release the mouse button to finish.

For cropping, select the Crop button. A cropping frame will appear. Drag the corners or edges of this frame to resize it. When happy with the selection, click the Apply button to crop the image.

To resize the image, use the Resize button. Enter the new dimensions in the provided fields, then click Apply. This will adjust the size of your image according to your input.

Clicking the Annotate button allows you to add text or shapes. Choose your annotation type and configure its appearance using the options that appear. Click on the image to place your annotation, and use the handles to adjust its position and size.

Customize Image Appearance

Change Background

  1. Click the three dots on the image block to open Block options.

  2. Select Edit Image from the context menu.

  3. In the image editor, click Image Composition.

  4. Choose and click Change background in toolbar.

  5. Select a desired background from available options.

  6. Apply background to the image.

Switch to Dark Mode

To switch to dark mode for images, follow these steps:

  1. Click the image to open the image editor.

  2. In the editor toolbar, locate the Switch to dark mode Tooltip.

  3. Click the Switch to dark mode Tooltip to apply the dark mode.

Tip: Use dark mode sparingly to create a stronger visual impact.

Use Dark Mode for Emphasis

Switch to dark mode when you want to highlight key elements or make an impactful statement with visual content. This can enhance contrast and focus but use it sparingly to maintain its effectiveness.

Manage Image Changes

Save or Discard Edits

After editing an image, a dialog box will appear asking if you want to save or discard your changes. Click the Save button to keep your edits, or select Discard to revert back to the original image.

Duplicate Images

Duplicate Images

Duplicating images in DocsHound is straightforward and can be done using various methods within the editor. Choose the approach that best fits your workflow.

Duplicate via Context Menu

1. Click on the image you want to duplicate. 2. Click on the Three Dots icon to open the context menu. 3. In the context menu, select Duplicate.

Duplicate via Drag and Drop

1. Click and hold on the image. 2. Drag the image over the desired location until the area highlights in blue. 3. Release the mouse button to place the duplicate.

Duplicate using Keyboard Shortcuts (Mac)

1. Click on the image to select it. 2. Press Command + C to copy the image. 3. Click where you want to place the duplicate. 4. Press Command + V to paste the duplicate.
