Overview

Learn how to add structured text to a doc with DocsHound's Editor.

Structuring Content

When organizing your doc, DocsHound uses H1s, H2s, and plain body copy to create an automatically organized hierarchy for your published content. H1 headings serve as titles, while H2s provide detailed subsections when section hierarchy is needed.

Add Header 1

Step-by-step
  1. Hover over (+) that appears next to a content block or line on the Editor interface

  2. Click to open Insert menu

  3. Select Header 1

  4. Input your Header 1 title

Use H1s Wisely

H1s should be used strategically to provide a clear and concise overview of the content that follows. Avoid using vague or generic headings that do not accurately represent the content within the section.

Add Header 2

Step-by-step
  1. Hover over (+) that appears next to a content block or line on the Editor interface

  2. Click to open the Insert menu

  3. Select Header 2

  4. Input your Header 2 title

Use H2s to Organize Your Content

When creating docs in DocsHound, make use of H2s to create detailed subsections within your content. This will help you to further organize and categorize information, allowing for a more granular approach to structuring your documentation.

Text Styling

Select Text

If you select text, a text styling menu will appear on top of the highlighted text, where you can apply styling options.

These options include Bold, Italic, Underline, Strikethrough, and Code. Additionally, you can also click the Link button to add a hyperlink to the text.

Our AI generation uses the code styling to highlight UI Elements. You have the option to do this via the text styling menu as describe, or also by delimiting any word with a backtick ` character.
