Overview
Learn how to use video, screenshots, voice, and video to generate documents in DocsHound.
Use Multi-input
To start, open the initial screen for generating documents. Here, you will see three buttons: Multi-input
, Video-input
, and Start with a blank page
. Click on the Multi-input
button to proceed.
The Multi-input
option allows you to use multiple sources of information to generate your document. You can add text, screenshots, and other details to create a comprehensive and detailed document. This method is useful for combining various forms of content into one cohesive guide.
Video-input
Once you have selected the Video-input
button, the video upload screen will appear. This screen allows you to upload a video, which will be used to automatically generate the document. There is a 100MB file size limit. If your video exceeds this, we recommend using handbrake
(accessible, non-technical) or ffmpeg
(for technical users) to compress.
Optimize Your Video Uploads
Videos must be under 100MB. Use tools like handbrake for compression. Ensure videos are high quality, in a 16:9 aspect ratio, and free from unnecessary browser elements to enhance clarity and reduce manual cropping efforts.
Screenshots
Including screenshots in your documents can make technical instructions clearer and easier to follow. Visual content helps users understand complex processes by providing a visual reference alongside text descriptions.
Additionally, if you have a chatbot, the images are analyzed via AI vision which will provide helpful context to the chatbot. The chatbot is able to serve up relevant images in response to user queries.
Voice Input
To add voice input to your document, use the Microphone
button. This button allows you to record audio that can be transcribed and included in your document. You can find the Microphone
button within the input options of the document creation interface.
Generate Document
Generate Informational Page
Once you have added screenshots and text / voice via the Textbox
, click the Generate Informational Page
button.
The purpose of the Generate Informational Page
button is to convert your inputs into a coherent informational page, multi-faceted and informational page.

Generate Step-by-step Page
Generating a step-by-step page helps you create procedural documentation, which guides users through a series of actions or tasks.
The system will use the provided information to generate a procedural document with step-by-step instructions for your users.
Generate Copy with Images
To add images to your documentation and generate corresponding textual descriptions, use the dog icon
in the section generator.
First, locate the DocsHound Icon
in the section generator. Clicking this icon will open a side menu.
From the side menu, you can drag and drop images into the designated area. This action will place your images in the document and create contextual text automatically.
This feature helps you incorporate visual content seamlessly, ensuring your documentation is both visually informative and textually accurate.
