in the modal that appears.

or abort the process by clicking Cancel
.
Configure New Domain
Enter New Domain
After confirming domain removal, enter the new custom domain in the Custom domain
textbox.
Ensure the domain is correctly formatted before proceeding. Use the Configure domain
button to apply changes.
Set Up CNAME Record
To set up a CNAME record, first, navigate to your domain provider's DNS settings and add a new CNAME record. Ensure the host name matches the value provided in the CNAME
section of the DocsHound domain settings modal.
After setting up your CNAME record, return to the DocsHound domain settings modal. Click the Verify DNS setup
button to confirm your DNS configuration. If your CNAME record is correctly set up, your domain will be verified. If you receive a CNAME verification failed
notification, wait for the DNS changes to propagate and click Verify DNS setup
again.
Allow time for DNS changes
After modifying your CNAME record, it may take some time for DNS changes to propagate. This is normal and can take up to 48 hours. During this time, your changes might not appear immediately. Be patient and try re-verifying after some time if needed.
Handle Verification Issues
Retry CNAME Verification
If the CNAME verification fails, a notification will appear with options to retry the verification or cancel the domain change. Before retrying, ensure that all DNS settings are correctly configured by checking your DNS records. Once you have verified that everything is set up correctly, click on the Verify DNS setup
button to retry the verification process.
Wait for DNS Propagation
DNS propagation is the process by which changes to a DNS record (like a CNAME record) are updated and spread across the internet. This ensures that your new settings are recognized by servers worldwide. It might take several hours or even up to 48 hours for these changes to fully propagate. During this time, be patient and avoid retrying the CNAME verification until propagation is complete.
