Add content blocks

Overview

Explore how to add and organize content blocks in the DocsHound editor to personalize and structure your documents effectively. This approach allows you to refine your documentation by selecting various content types and arranging them according to your needs.

Adding Content Blocks

Insert Headings

To add a heading, first click on the Add Content Block button located in the Sidebar Menu. This will open a dropdown menu with various content options. Select either Heading 1 or Heading 2 from the Insert Menu dropdown. Once selected, the chosen heading will appear in your document and you can start editing it immediately.

Using headings with a clear hierarchy boosts SEO and automatically creates a table of contents in the article. This aids in navigation and structure.

Add Step-by-Step Blocks

Once selected, a textbox labeled Step-by-Step Block will appear in your document. Enter the steps in the provided textbox. Each step can include detailed instructions.

You can also add images to step by step blocks by hovering over the block and clicking the image icon.

Organizing Content Blocks

Use Callouts and Tables

To add a callout block, click on the Add Content Block button in the sidebar menu to open the Insert Menu. From the list of options, select Callout Block. A new callout block will appear below the existing content blocks.

You can now enter your text into the callout block. Click inside the callout block to start typing. The text input control will allow you to format your message as needed.

To add a table block, repeat the steps by clicking on the Add Content Block button again and selecting Table Block from the Insert Menu. A new table block will be added to the document.

Populate the table by clicking inside the cells and entering the data. Use the table controls to add or remove rows and columns as necessary.

Expand FAQ Sections

To add an FAQ Section, click the Add Content Block button in the Sidebar Menu. From the Insert Menu, select FAQ Section. This will add a new FAQ block to your document.

To expand the FAQ section, click on it. This will open fields where you can enter questions and their respective answers.

For each question, type your question in the provided field, and then input the answer in the corresponding box below it.

Formatting Text Blocks

Add Bullet Points

To add a bullet list, click the Format Dropdown in your text block. Choose Bullet List from the options. This will change your text block to a list format. Enter each list item by typing and pressing Enter after each entry.

Add Numbered Lists

Open the Format Dropdown for the text block. Select Numbered List by clicking on it.

Begin entering your list items, pressing Enter after each entry to create new list items.
